Emotion Coaching Resources for Families

We don’t have to look far to know our youth today are challenged with anxiety, depression and stress. In the news and in our lives, we see kids struggling with heavy emotions caused by social media and life’s circumstances. Parents continue to seek help with how to help their children.

To aid in healing and potentially cope with these issues, the Focus On Love Foundation’s mission is simple: through photography and play, we assist children, with the help of their parents, in discovering their emotions. Additionally, we provide parents and caregivers with skills and techniques of effective emotion coaching through utilization of The Gottman Institute's emotion coaching principles.

By exploring feelings through photography, kids can discover playful ways to create greater emotional awareness. And by equipping parents with how to effectively coach their children, the teaching and learning process serves as a platform for transforming family and creating happy and resilient children.

Emotion coaching gets to the heart of parenting, and through the Focus On Love Foundation’s emotion coaching principles, your children will develop a greater love for themselves, their parents, and their community.

The Focus On Love Foundation provides emotion coaching and vision care advocacy for children, parents and community to successfully explore, understand, and govern emotions through photography.  Explore our current photography workshop offerings here.

As an alternative to in-person workshop, we also offer downloadable, and web-based, at-home photo-emotion learning activities for children on our Focus On Emotion/Learning Resources page.
