Our Purpose
According to Dr. John Gottman, author of the book “How to Raise Emotionally Intelligent Children” and co-founder of The Gottman Institute, research indicates that about half of parents are not comfortable talking with their children about emotions.
The average onset of anxiety for a child starts at six years old. The long-term effects of anxiety can include substance abuse, anger, violence, and other negative life behaviors and consequences. Technology has diminished interpersonal skills, including the ability to read body language and social cues, a skill necessary for effective personal interaction.
Focus On Love Foundation offers emotion coaching with photography based activities and vision care advocacy to support children's self-esteem and develop sustainable healthy emotional behaviors.
